Inauguration of the year of Mother Veronica

The Superior General and the team together with the Lourdes Convent community inaugurated the year of Mother Veronica, our Founder on 1 October 2011. Sister Liceria briefed the gathering regarding the importance of dedicating this year to Mother Veronica. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Sister Agatha Mary, the Superior General, the Councillors, Sister Lisetta the superior of Lourdes Convent and the ACA President. Sister Clarice and the students of the Sacred Heart Teacher Training Institute choreographed the A.C. charism. The unveiling of the photo of Mother Veronica was a part of the programme. The programme concluded with a message on the spirituality of Mother Veronica bt Sister Agatha Mary.

The programme was attended by the ACA members, Carmel Blossoms, D.Ed students and the hostellers of the campus. We were also fortunate to have the Renewal group which represented the entire Congregation. The programme was followed by a light refreshment.

The Renewal Programme , September 14- October 8,2011

Twenty five sisters -ten years after their Final Profession came for their Renewal Programme to the Generalate, Bangalore. Sister Agnesita directed them with the help of the following reosurce persons : Sisters Agatha Mary, Vincent, Liceria and Fr.Cyriac. O.C.D.

Do you remember our housemaids? Actually they have been

our life-time helpers.

The Congregation wished to honour them for their loving and generous services to our communities. So, Sister Agatha Mary, the Superior General invited them to the Generalate for a get- together of three days. Thirteen of them were able to come , eleven from the Southern Province and two from Karnataka .

Our sisters of Lourdes and Mary Immaculate communities also invited them and entertained them.

Triple Golden Jubilee Celebrations at the A.C. Generalate, December 29, 2010

We, at the Generalate were privileged to have at one time three golden Jubilarians:
Sisters Liceria, Lisetta and Beatrice Pereira. Sister Liceria is of course is the Assistant General and so the Generalate Team celebrated her Jubilee with a homely get together of prayer and festivities much ahead of the official celebration.

The day dawned with the Jubilarians being escorted to the Chapel in a procession with the singing of " Behold the Bridegroom cometh". An inspriting morning prayer followed. The Jubilarians were fortunate to have some of their relatives and friends participating in this prayer. The joy of the Trio knew no bounds becasue besides the Superior General and the team and the sisters of the community, Sister Vincent graced this occasion. There were many sisters from other Provinces as well. Archbishop Emeritus Ignatius Pinto was the main celebrant of the Eucharistic celebration. After Mass the Jubilarians were led with 'golden' Umberlllas to the Shaminana which was aesthetically and fittingly decorated for the Triple Golden Jubilee. The relatives and guests filled the large Shamiana and enthusatically greeted the three sisters and enjoyed a festive lunch thereafter. Bangalore, the garden city provided a variety of flowers for the occasion. Every one felt that it was relly a solemn celebration.
The festive celebration was preceded by a spiritual Renewal Programme of the batch. Eleven of them gathered at Maryhill from November 28 to December 15, 2010. The programme included a Retreat at Ryshivana directed by Fr. John Sequeira OCD. They also renewed their first love by visiting St. Anns and Rosario Cathedral. You know of course that Sr. Liceria was instrumental for all these arrangements.

Renewal Programme 2010

Thirty Three sisters of the Renewal programme arrived at the Apostolic Carmel Generalate on September 25, after their tour to Delhi, Patna and Kolkatta. The Renewal programme was officially inaugurated on 26 with a meaningful prayer service and lighting of the lamps. In the absence of Sr.Agatha mary, the Superior General, Sister Liceria, the Assistant Superior General , welcomed the group and gave an inspiring message. After that, Sistr Agnesita the co-ordinator took charge of the programme.

THE SEMINAR ON SOCIAL APOSTOLATE AT THE APOSTOLIC CARMEL GENERALATE

The Seminar was held from August 14 to 26. 45 participants from all over India and Sri Lanka
participated in the programme. The objective of the Seminar was to re-vision our social apostolate and to integrate it with the main stream educational apostolate. So there were many young sisters from our schools and colleges. The sisters were very happy that a broader vision of education was presented to them.
The sisters also became aware that the various ministries complemented each other and that we need to work hand in hand if we are to reach out to the marginalised and the neglected groups of our society.
