INSTALLATION OF SISTER M. SUSHEELA A.C., THE ELEVENTH SUPERIOR GENERAL OF THE APOSTOLIC CARMEL ON 18. 05. 2014 AT THE APOSTOLIC CARMEL GENERALATE, BANGALORE

The 18th of May 2014 was indeed an auspicious day for the A.C. family as our Superior General elect Sr. M. Susheela A.C. assumed office along with her Councillors, Sisters Mabilia, Lydia, Joselin Joseph, Vimala Paul and Secretary, Sister Jennifer D'Silva and Bursar, Sister M. Pavitha. It was a day of great joy and rejoicing. The Provincial Superiors and several A.C. Sisters from all the Provinces were present for the occasion. The Morning Prayer was very creatively conducted by the Sisters of the Lourdes community with Sr. Clarice in charge. We are happy to share with you a few photographs of this joyous and historic event as our dear Sister Susheela assumed office as the 11th Superior General of the Congregation of the Apostolic Carmel. May the good Lord continue to shepherd His Chosen One and lead her to fresh and green pastures. We pledge our love, loyalty and obedience to our new leader and look forward to new horizons of being God's compassionate presence in the world through the leadership of the new team! May God bless one and all for your prayerful support!

26 February

After the Sessions, we joined the Community for a prayer service.  Sisters Carmel Ann and Rose Maria are leaving for Rome; Sister Carmel Ann to work in the Vatican Radio Department and Sister Rose Maria to do a course in spirituality.  We prayed for God’s blessings on both of them and on their future mission.

At 8.p.m the Delegates organized a Recreation in honour of Lourdes and Saranya Communities and all the sisters who helped us during the past one month.  You can see the photographs: the Delegates dancing, singing and thanking the sisters.

 

Catching up with News

22 February

As the last week of the General Chapter was approaching, the Delegates decided to thank Sister Agatha Mary and her team for their services to the Congregation during the past  six years. 

After the day’s session, we gathered for a thanksgiving  prayer.  The Superior General and the team came in procession with lighted candles.  Each member of the team was prayed for.  It was an inspiring thanksgiving prayer.

23 February : This Sunday was special again as it brought much desired relaxation for the Chapter Delegates.  Mary Immaculate convent had invited us for tea and a get together.  We worked earnestly the whole morning and at 2.30 p.m. went to Mary Immaculate convent, Wilson gardens.  The sisters welcomed us with much love and hospitality.  We enjoyed being with them, playing games and seeing around the place.

At 5.45 p.m. we had to leave the Sisters as we had another invitation from the Vice Chancellor of Christ University Rev. Fr.Thomas C. Mathew for a music and dance programme at the university auditorium.  It was truly a scintillating, glittering cultural extravaganza.  

               

Long awaited news

Surely you are waiting eagerly to know who the Secretary General and Bursar General are.  Sister Jennifer D’ Silva was elected as the Secretary General

and Maria Pavitha was elected as the Bursar General.  The Superior General and the team will assume their responsibility on 18 May 2014.  Keep them in your prayers. 

Are you missing us?

We, the Chapter Delegates have been out of your view for a few days.  We have been closeted in the Chapter Hall for 10-12 hours a day, with study sessions, discussion assemblies and group discussions.  This process will continue for a few more days.

We have a new group of Participants with us: Sisters Maria Preethika, Sumitha, Maria Mayola, Maria Lini, Angelica and Alexia. They will be here till 23^rd.

Unfortunately Sister Preethika had to leave us after 2 days, because of the death in her family due to accident.
