She stayed eight days in a small room behind the then chapel, making her abode together with Sr.Marie Jospeh in 1862. Their ship was anchored at Galle harbour. She loved this place and wrote to Sr.Agnes ten years later:"Oh!that island paradise, when will I see again. May be when I am nearing my end in God's presence ."
The convent was declared open by the newly elected Bishop of Galle, His Lorship Rt. Rev.Dr.Raymond Wicremesinghe in the presence of our Suprior General Sister Agatha Mary A.C.
